Ray Martin, a Billiards Congress of America Hall of Fame inductee, is one of only seven players in the twentieth century to win three or more world 14.1 (Straight Pool) titles. He co-wrote this book with Rosser Reeves in 1976.
Notes: This is a good-quality, OCRed scan from the original book. It has been reprinted many times since 1977 and remains in print today, but the text has not changed since this 1993 revision. This book is generally considered one of the classic, must-have works on the subject. While written primarily with straight pool (14.1 continuous) in mind, the vast majority of it is applicable to eight-ball, nine-ball, and any other pool game, because it is grounded in core principles of shot-making, cue-ball control, speed control, stroke types, pattern plays, etc. This is not a book to just read once, but to take with you to the pool hall for your practice sessions, and use it for drills on specific shot types.
